Actually storage vm picked 3 ip addresses all from Public IP range.

Why would it need 3 ip addresses on public ip space? In my case I have public 
ip space for qa and dev networks.  1 came from qa and 2 came from dev, none 
from designated storage network.

Also, I don't believe this is VMWare related, perhaps it affects KVM/XEN 
implementations as well.
