I am leading an effort to implement CloudStack Network Plugin ( named Brocade VCS plugin) to orchestrate Brocade VCS cluster. We are using 4.3 as the base for development. Initially, the plugin will focus on L2 services. The plugin would automatically orchestrate Brocade's VCS cluster when VMs are created and attached to Network. The tenant isolation is provided via VLAN. When Isolated networks are created from CloudStack and allocated VLAN, the same VLANs need to be propagated to the VCS cluster as well, so that when a VLAN-tagged packet arrives on a switch-port, the switch know which ports to flood the packet. The Brocade VCS Plugin will orchestrate VCS directly using NETCONF. In order to find the switch-ports that are connected to the hypervisor hosts, the plugin would implement the Pluggable interface and expose Pluggable service API for the admin to provide the traffic-label to switch-port mapping. We will write a NetworkGuru and override the implement() method to: 1. Configure a VLAN interface on VCS. 2. Configure the interface port on VCS. 3. Configure VLAN membership on the interfaces. Please provide comments and feedback for this proposal. Thanks & Regards, Ritu S.
