Oh, yes, I missed that one. If you set the option
validate.jars=false
no jars.xml file will be generated. So the build stop at the moment where the buildscript tries to copy it.
I noticed this yesterday but found that at present the build reports success but doesn't actually finish (at least when doing a fresh build).

Before your change, these both worked for me on Linux: ./build.sh clean; ./build.sh ./build.sh clean; ./build.sh webapp So i do not see the need for the failonerror=false.
What commands are you using to initiate the build?
