Regarding your fail-quick argument. The reason a Source must be returned by the
Source resolving system regardless of whether the underlying File or whatever
actually exists is that a Source is not exclusively a read-only entity.
Modifiable sources like FileSource can create themselves. For this one needs a
handle to the FileSource to be created.
