That's indeed the thing that I want to see: the abstraction of caching/store through a cache layer. Therefore we should not add EHCache or any other to our CVS, but add it to JCS, so that we can access it through the JCS interfaces.


We do have that of course with the excalibur Store service interface, albeit a JSR compliant one would be preferable. Still, plugging in your caching product of choice is a trivial matter.


I'm do wonder why the EHCache guys decided to fork instead of contribute to JCS.
