I suspect its not so much a bug, more a feature of two different teams interpreting the servlet specs differently :)
No, I think Remy just didn't get where the problem is (probably has to deal with a million of those faulty bug reports).
I suggest Patrick to start a discussion on tomcat-dev@ and, also, cut the stacktraces since they just add noise.
