Somewhere in the back of my head I remember a proposal/discussion about changing the build system so it's possible to build individual blocks.
So either I was just dreaming of that *sigh* "Wouldn't that be nice!?" ...or it's already implemented and I just missed how to do it...
So what is it?
well, gump builds blocks one by one... if you do
./build.sh -Dblock-name=blah gump-block
it will build just the 'blah' block (and obviously, cocoon, as it needs it)
