I've recently created rpms of sun's j2sdk1.4.2_07 from the instructions here: http://www.jpackage.org/rebuilding.php And now the build works fine using ibm's jvm, although I had to move /etc/ant.conf out of the way during the build (thanks to jave on freenode for that advise).
