Found the problem in http://cocoon.zones.apache.org/logs/cocoon-demos/21branch/stderr.log:
svn: Working copy '.' lockedsvn: run 'svn cleanup' to remove locks (type 'svn help cleanup' for details)
Dunno why this happened - I have run "svn cleanup", "svn up" and restarted the demo, please check again in a few minutes, once the 502 message is gone.
