Demo 2 now works fine in FF.
Demo 1 works, but is tricky to control.
Click-drag moves the square a short distance, and then I get the "no
entry" sign.
I can then move the mouse and the square follows.
Left click then drops the square.

It looks like the code may be seeing extra events or dropping some events.

Neither demo works in Opera.
