Looks good to me. Given [text] is already on Java 8, I believe it's a good
candidate to start using assertj.

Indeed. But I like this approach. We introduce assertj, migrate the old
assertions, and only then we start replacing/simplifying parts of the tests.
And new text code can also be written with assertj.
