Is there any donation of space, money, time, organising power, etc. from a third party? If so, then the event isn't 100% run by ComDev. Is there money coming from ComDev to support this initiative? Then absolutely Marketing & Publicity and Brand need to be aware of the situation. I misspoke previously - VP Brand isn't Sally, she's VP Marketing & Publicity. Both VPs should be kept in the loop on these events. > Here are mail threads, which include the proposal, feedback and > interest shown by various people, approval, and step by step progress > done for setting up the Apache Local Community chapter. > > https://s.apache.org/ucfo4 > https://s.apache.org/bf1m6 > https://s.apache.org/zwye0 > https://s.apache.org/igdvu > > I have also send a mail on priv...@community.apache.org list for > discussing the organizational hierarchy of ALC, and based on inputs > from honorable members, we have concluded the things. > > Based on all the inputs, we have documented all information the ALC in > ComDev wiki, > https://s.apache.org/alc > > So are you suggesting, although the ALC is the initiative by Apache > ComDev, still when any ALC chapter organized any event, they should > get approval by VP, Brand Management or the VP of the relevant Apache > project (Apache ComDev in this case). > If yes, I will document these steps as well in confluence wiki, so > that other ALC chapters (to be incorporated in future :) will also > follow the same process. Yeah, I think that's wise, especially if any third parties are involved in paying for any resources, providing space, or seek to sponsor the efforts. > Kindly let me know if I am missing anything :-) > > Thanks again for your time! > > Best regards, > Swapnil M Mane, > www.apache.org > > On Wed, Sep 25, 2019 at 8:57 PM Joan Touzet <woh...@apache.org> wrote: >> >> Hi Swapnil, >> >> On 2019-09-17 6:45, Swapnil M Mane wrote: >>> Dear all, >>> >>> ALC Indore Chapter [2] is pleased to announce the next event for the >>> local student community, 'The Apache Day'. >>> The event will be organized on 28 September 2019 at Prestige Institute >>> of Engineering Management & Research Institute [3]. >> >> I just want to check that you got this approved via Sally Khudari first? >> Our policy is very clear: >> >> https://apache.org/foundation/marks/events.html >> >> "The use of Apache marks in any events run by third parties must be >> approved by VP, Brand Management or the VP of the relevant Apache >> project.
