Hello Everyone, The ALC [1] Indore Chapter [2] is organizing a workshop to spread awareness about GSoC with ASF. GSoC 2023 season has just started and ASF will be participating in this year continuing its active streak. This session is targeted towards students / open source enthusiasts in Indore to guide them through the Apache Way and how the ASF works at large. Thus facilitating participation in the ASF projects for this season.
This will be an in-person meetup scheduled on Friday 10th February 2023. As per ALC Event guidelines [3], we would like to request PMC approval for this upcoming event. In the session we will be covering the following topics: 1. Introduction to GSoC - Why they should participate - GSoC 2023 timeline - Tips on how to approach a mentoring organisation - Tips on how to sail through the selection process (Speaker: Priya Sharma, PMC ComDev) 2. GSoC with the ASF - Open Source - What is ASF and its ties with GSoC - The Apache Way - How Apache projects community work - How to setup and get started with a project (Speaker: Aditya Sharma, ASF Member) This event will be held at the HotWax Systems Indore office.
