Dear ASF GSOC Organizers, I'd like to register as a mentor for GSOC 2026 for the Apache Iceberg project and issue https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GSOC-335.
Within the community Apache Iceberg, we already had a DISCUSS thread to approve the work on the project as part of GSOC and have already made considerable progress working together on a POC and full proposal for the improvement. Varun Lakhyani, our potential contributor, has already been in extensive communication with me about the project and his work as well as having participated in several community meetings. I think this would make a great piece of work for GSOC and hope you can assist me in making this a reality.
