Ok, here's a link to a repo for perusal, and in particular the JS file:

I tried with this running just turning off the data and wifi and the app
continue to run for about 30 minutes no problem, it would just get the error
for the fetch and then the timeout fired and another would go off. So I don't
know that it's just that.
It's unfortunately some combo of moving parts. Ugh.
Things I've not tried yet but want to:
* Sending multiple XHRs at once and looping/re-fetching once they're all
complete.
* Including battery listeners
* Using backbone in this equation.
Also - @Untappd folks - do you guys use Urban Airship for push? I wonder if
it's relevant.
