Ok, I've narrowed it down. When this line is wrapped in a setTimeout,
deviceready doesn't fire when the index.html page is navigated back to again:

Repro on iOS 6:
1. Load app
2. Click on Yahoo Remote URL button
3. Click on Home transparent button
