Speaking of not having to maintain our own registry.... Not sure if anyone that's touched the couch server has time to look at this:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-8284 Seems that publishing always fails to add new tarballs when publishing a new version of an existing plugin. Would love to be proved wrong, but tried it with brand new dummy plugin, with npm --registry=, and get the same result each time.
