This would be very useful but I think there will be pushback for choosing MD5 
(Yes, it's not broken for this usage but try educating PHB's). A database 
creation time configuration for other digest algorithms would be cool, though I 
appreciate Erlang is limited in its choice (the only other choice is sha1, 
iirc?)
