I'm seeing this issue on a CentOS 6.2 running Erlang R14B04 (erts-5.8.5)
[source] [64-bit] [smp:4:4] [rq:4] [async-threads:0] [kernel-poll:false]. It
hangs in 220-compaction-daemon.t. So I don't think it's an R15B or OS X issue.
