Russell Branca commented on COUCHDB-1708:
-----------------------------------------
Awesome work Garren!!
I've got this running locally and its working pretty well. Couple things I
wanted to bring up.
1) When I change a file, the watch tasks errors on rebuilding the template
with: "Verifying property template.server exists in config...ERROR." This is
due to calling "template:server" rather than template, which you already fixed
in the COUCHDB-1712 branch in
https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=couchdb.git;a=commitdiff;h=b19cd925.
2) Rebuilding the full require.js file. I would still really like to see us
avoid rebuilding the entire bundled JS file on every file change. The bbb
server task did a fair bit of work to make this functional so that every js
file was loaded asynchronously. I don't see this as a blocker as overall its
far better to have a working server task than to not have one at all.
3) Use of express.js. This framework pulls in a substantial amount of
dependencies, and while the final bundled fauxton app doesn't care what local
deps you have installed, if possible we should keep those deps small. Do we
need express.js? is there a lightweight alternative?
Overall I don't see any of these issues as blockers, and I'm very happy to see
a working server task. Thanks Garren!!

> Right now the bbb server task partially works, but has some issues with paths
> and doesn't do everything needed to use it as a primary development
> environment. At the very least, the paths need to be fixed for this to work
> properly.
