Wendall Cada commented on COUCHDB-1789: --------------------------------------- This is mostly a browser limitation. Additionally, the library that creates the visual tree structures is somewhat expensive beyond a certain point. The specific limitation depends on the hardware and browser version, but there is clearly a limit. I don't think it's reasonable to expect Futon to do something that is pushing the browser beyond it's capabilities. There are a couple of possible "fixes" I see here. One would be simply showing a message to the user that attempting to render the doc may have unexpected results, or just render the doc as plain text. Is there some expected resolution here? I'm not seeing how we can do much as this is a browser issue, not a really a futon issue. This may be resolved somewhat in Fauxton (Futon replacement), but I've not played around with the upper limits there either, so I'm unsure that this isn't an issue with Fauxton as well. > CouchDB 1.3 Futon (using Chrome,IE, FF ) freezes while displaying large > documents > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: COUCHDB-1789 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-1789 > Project: CouchDB > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Futon > Reporter: Arpit > > CouchDb can support document even larger than 4Gb but > CouchDB 1.3 & 1.2.1 Futon (using Chrome,IE, FF ) freezes while displaying > large documents (around 5 MB size) -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
