140-*.t is one of the tests that fail ephemerally. It should be fixed, but
if you got it to pass at part of `make distcheck` (twice) we should be good
for this release.

Do you by chance run Ubuntu in a VM for this? I’ve seen it fail there more
often than on real hardware (not that it happens a lot anyway).

And can you also try a newer Erlang version to if that fixes it? IIRC R15B01
is also a contributing factor.

As for why `tests/etap/run` wouldn’t exist: It is generated as part of
`make [all]` which does not include `make distcheck`. So I imagined you
might have run plain `make` or `make dev` at some point in your tests
which made `tests/etap/run` appear.
