@rnewson brilliant, you have clearly thought about this a lot more than I
have :)
On the `.gitconfig` thing, it would be a permanent local setup, right? E.g.
a default user wouldnât get this by default. Iâd say setting an env var is
less hassle than setting up the `.gitconfig`, but then, either have to be
documented anyway, so might as well pick the more thorough solution.
The git wrapper bit is quite nice too. Keeping the local mirror up to date
is what I would have looked next :D
Did you notice any slowdowns in using git because of this (and the
additional launch of python?
And how does this fare when one is offline? Can the `update_mirror` path
fail silently and quickly when the remote canât be reached?
