These things are always and have always been, as per ASF regulations, announced on the dev@ mailing list. > It would also be useful to mention who the Chairman is and his/her term > dates. I’m the PMC Chair, I just got renewed for another 12 months last week. The PMC Chair is elected ~yearly by the PMC Members. The PMC Chair is also the Vice President of CouchDB at the Apache Software Foundation. The distinction is because projects within the ASF are independent. The highest office at Apache CouchDB is the PMC Chair. At the level of the ASF, the PMC Chair is the Vice President of the Project, responsible for communicating the project and its interests to the Board. The office of the PMC Chair/VP is purely administrative, it has no special decision or voting rights or anything. And for full disclosure, I’m also an ASF Member, e.g. I get to decide, along with all other Members ASF-wide policy, the board, etc. Best Jan -- > > Thanks and Best Regards, > Giovanni
