There are methods available to the Sax2 parser that are not available in the
Sax 1 parser. When I was looking at rewriting the XSLT there was a point where
some of the functions would be nice to have.
When looking at converting to HTML I think that some of the functions may be
necessary.
It means that we can support more recent XSLT stylesheets.
