Right now, this simple bit of Crunch code:
pipeline.read(From.textFile(...)).write(To.avroFile("output"));
...fails because the Writable type that is returned by From.textFile cannot be
converted to an Avro type for the output file. The current error message when
this happens ("no OutputFormat configured") is cryptic relative to the actual
source of the problem. This patch moves the error reporting higher in the stack
to the source of the problem.
