Thanks for pointing this out and adding the test case [~tomwhite]. It looks
like there was an artificial check that disallowed writing Avro PTables from
within MemPipelines, but I don't know what it was doing there -- in any case,
removing it (as is done in this patch) makes your test work and doesn't break
anything else.
