Hi Oranit, While 2011AB is the pre-packaged available version, ctakes can work with any version of the UMLS. This question has come up before, but I don't believe that there is a JIRA ticket on it - maybe a ctakes version per umls version, or every AB version, or ??. There is a tool in sandbox that will create a ctakes-compatible umls database, and if you search the archives you should find some instructions on its use. A gui would be great, but we aren't there yet.
