With 2.2.2 out the door, I think it's probably time to create a 2.2.x fixes branch and move trunk to targetting 2.3.
Basically, there are things that should start coming in that are more than just "bug fixes" that should probably be going toward 2.3. The three projects from the GSoC folks, the Woodstox upgrade and aegis validation, I have some code first/annotation ideas, some OSGi stuff, etc....
