Thanks for starting the discussions. I believe the project is ready to graduate as a Top Level Project (TLP) in ASF.
Love to hear any thoughts from people in the community. One of the members of PPMC will send a graduation resolution and will VOTE on it. Answers to Vira's questions: 1. In resolution we have to indicate the initial members of the project. 1.1 So, can only podling PPMC be the initial members of the project? Yes, the current members of PPMC can join as initial members of the project which build the PMC for DataLab as TLP 1.2. What about committer(s)? Are they allowed to be the initial members of the project? For graduation, we can do 2 things: Make them PPMC members for those ready Immediately do Vote after graduation to bring them in as committers to DataLab as TLP 1.3. If somebody of the PPMC members (podling) is not indicated as initial members of the project what status (membership) will he take in the project? Current PPMC members will build the initial PMC members of DataLab as TLP in Apache. 1.4 If somebody of the committers is not indicated as initial members of the project will he remain as a committers in the project? Not when we graduate at first. But as I mentioned before, the PMC can immediately VOTE and re-invite them as committers for the project - Henry On Tue, Jan 26, 2021 at 12:37 AM Leonid Frolov <[email protected]> wrote: > Dear community, > > I think that before graduation we should bring our DockerHub repository > into line with the Distribution Guidelines. > There is a ticket related to the topic. > https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-21318 > > Best regards, > Leonid Frolov > > On 2021/01/08 18:10:27, Vira Vitanska <[email protected]> wrote: > > Dear colleagues, > > > > Apache DataLab entered incubation on 20 August, 2018. > > The community, Apache DataLab podling have been growing successfully > under the Apache way.
