Pierre-Arnaud Marcelot commented on DIRSTUDIO-607:
--------------------------------------------------
I just tried on my Ubuntu 9.10 VM, and if I open and closes Studio right away,
the process ends correctly (even when I use it for a little while).
I'm using the same JVM version...
There must be something on your system that Studio (thus Eclipse) does not
like...
Any idea if a regular Eclipse installation does the same on your machine?
> Apache Directory Studio won't exit (needs kill -9)

> Project: Directory Studio
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: studio-apacheds
> Affects Versions: 1.5.1
> Environment: Ubuntu 9.10 (Linux 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri
> Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux)
> $ java -version
> java version "1.6.0_15"
> Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03)
> Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 14.1-b02, mixed mode)
> Reporter: BFortin
> Priority: Minor
>
> 1. I open Apache Directory Studio from command line :
> $ /opt/ApacheDirectoryStudio/ApacheDirectoryStudio
> 0 [main] INFO org.apache.directory.studio.Application - Entering
> Apache Directory Studio.
> 2. Then, when I close Apache Directory Studio (either from the GUI or using
> CTRL-C from the bash console), the console reports :
> 30924 [main] INFO org.apache.directory.studio.Application - Exiting
> Apache Directory Studio.
> 3. However, Apache Directory Studio won't close, even using a regular "kill"
> signal, so I need to use "kill -9" each time to terminate the process.
