Maybe that's intended. RFC 4512, Section 4.4
(http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4512#section-4.4) describes schema retrieval.
The scope must be base and filter must be (objectClass=subschema). But I think
it would be nice if ApacheDS would be more relaxed in that case.
