Emmanuel Lecharny commented on DIRSTUDIO-1078:
----------------------------------------------

I tested the search against ApacheDS, and what I see, when using a filter like
{{(member=cn=\23SOME,dc=example,dc=org)}} is that the DN is not considered as
valid, as the '#' we get is not a valid char in a DN. That means we should keep
the {{\23}} string in the filter instead of unescaping it and replace it by a
{{#}}.

Still some checks to do...

> unable to use # pound hash sign in LDAP filters

> It seems impossible to perform searches that to use # sign inside. Tried to
> add them, not escaped, escaped with single or double backslash but none of
> these approaches worked.
> Example
> {code}
> (&(objectClass=group)(displayName=*)(|(memberOf:1.2.840.113556.1.4.1941:=CN=\\#SOME,OU=Groups,OU=EMEA,DC=example,DC=net)))
> (&(objectClass=group)(displayName=*)(|(memberOf:1.2.840.113556.1.4.1941:=CN=\#SOME,OU=Groups,OU=EMEA,DC=example,DC=net)))
> (&(objectClass=group)(displayName=*)(|(memberOf:1.2.840.113556.1.4.1941:=CN=#SOME,OU=Groups,OU=EMEA,DC=example,DC=net)))
