Thank you, @klasen. With your change I was able to build master to work on an Apple M1 ARM computer and still connect to a server using TLS 1.3 (proxing through an SSH-tunnel). On Linux downgrading M17 to M17 is enough, but for ARM MacOS that is not an option because MacOS ARM support was only added on M17.
