Not necessarily... the attachment is a PGP signature. If you use a decent 
email client and have either PGP of GPG (Gnu Privacy Guard) then it will be 
decrypted, and the message will have a confirmation that Mike was the actual 
sender.

AFAIK, there is no PGP/GPG plug-in available for use through GMail...
