Is this proposal acceptable? Or any other practical ideas? Proposal To provide project members with a measures of effectively reviewing a set of revised web pages of the mirror subproject, we would have a staging area for the set of web pages. Details A directory for the staging area [2] could be created in the CVS repository [1]. [1] http://distribution.openoffice.org/source/browse/distribution/www/ Staging area (for our internal reviewers) (currently does not exist) [2] http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors_on_staging/ Production area (for our customers) [3] http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/ Needs Some of the web pages in the directory [4] are related each other and have connections via links to other web pages. Thus, if some of the web pages are being revised simultaneously, having a set of web pages in a different location and letting them be updated might be an effective way. [4] http://distribution.openoffice.org/source/browse/distribution/www/mirrors/ Background We currently have a staging web page for index.html in the directory [4], named proposal_of_index.html. It works. But if we had similarly named web pages, e.g. proposal_of_master.html and proposal_of_foo_bar.html, it could be instantly in a mess. So I thought having another directory called mirrors_on_staging/ beside mirrors/ and putting identically named files there might be a better way.
