The subject issue deals with graphics inserted in a sub-document and
being anchored "to page". Subsequently the graphic will not be
displayed in the master document though it always appears correctly in
the subdocument. According to the closing entry on this issue, this is
expected behavior.
"It's a limitation of the OOo master document concept. It is not
possible to use reference to a certain "page" defined in a subdocument
because the master document reorganizes the page flow, page number and
references to collate all documents together. This way, the absolute
reference to a page X in a sub doc is lost in the master doc. The
graphic loses its anchor reference and simply disappears.
WORKAROUND
To avoid this disparition but anchor the picture with a reference to the
page:
- Set the anchor to "To Character" or "To Paragraph"
- In the picture properties, under "Type - Position", choose suiting
horizontal and vertical references:to the page."
Although the issue was originated from OOo1.1.4, I conclude from the
above that the restriction continues in 2.0.
I am not bothered by this resolution; but, because it is expected
behavior, I feel that some guidance in Help and user docs is appropriate.
If the proper coordinator (Ger?) will advise format and where, I will
rephrase the above and submit accordingly.
Kudos to the developers, btw. Less than 24 hours end-to-end.
