I have copied the dev list on this as there are others that can help. Please use the list as private emails often disappear into the junk bin by accident and recovering them often takes days. Now messages to the dev list are not filtered and I see them right away. I do not understand this. File names would help. > > Actually I thought you were going to re-write that document as well. > So I downloaded the odt version thinking it was meant for Writer... Chapter 3 _IS_ the Writer chapter of the manual available at http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=29679 -rw------- 1 gerry wheel 1076386 Jan 9 12:44 user_guide_chapter3.odt versus -rw-r--r-- 1 gerry wheel 5720100 Jan 22 09:34 user_guide2_dawley.odt So I do not understand how you think the integrated file is smaller than the chapter. > > I am concentrating on the Writer for now. When things get a bit more settled, I would like to try versioning. Makes for big files but does keep things together. > So are the separate chapters later than the integrated single odt file? The files on http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=29679 were all generated at roughly the same time. > > And if you are not the author/updater Writer guide, where to get it? > (As I am writing this, I found this link in the manual itself: > http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/published/ This is _NOT_ the user guide with which I am working. OOoAuthors is an external group doing documentation too. The documentation project hosts their guides as we feel they are important and fulfill a niche. > [snipped] -- PLEASE KEEP MESSAGES ON THE LIST.
