Greetings. My name is Brad Cupp. I am an American whose only native language is
English. My background is primarily academic. I have a B.S. in Computer Science
and Mathematics from Pepperdine University, a M.A. in Linguistics from the
University of Virginia, and I am A.B.D. in the Computation Linguistics program
at Georgetown University. Currently, I live in Malibu, California and teach
computer science at Pepperdine.

I have taught a course in business computing at Pepperdine for the last seven
years. I am currently teaching the course using OpenOffice (primarily Calc) for
all of my lectures. This is the first time we have not used Microsoft Office. I
am producing online lectures for the course, and I thought that the OpenOffice
community might benefit from the material I am producing. I produce SWF videos
that are lectures rather than how-tos, so I am unsure how they will fit into
your documentation project. You can view a sample lecture at
http://mccarthy.cslab.pepperdine.edu/~cupp/Lectures/Spreadsheets/If/Overtime.htm.
I have produced hours of video, and I am producing more on a daily basis.

I also want to investigate the possibility of our computer science majors
becoming contributors to the documentation project to satisfy their university
writing requirement.

On a personal note, I think OpenOffice is a fantastic product. Thanks to all of
you for the work you have done to make it as good as it is.

-Brad.
