A worthwhile experiment for the early revised WG/GS chapters (or others) would be to utilize linked graphics instead of embedding them, especially for the large graphics. The inline graphics could still be embedded. Using linked graphics would cut down both the file size and page count drastically for those users who do not need nor want them. And users of printed PDFs would not have their ink squandered on the graphics when all they want are the directions and commands--sort of a Reader's Digest.

The print versions could embed their graphics--at little extra effort. Besides, the graphics could be updated more easily/often when some changes to the GUI occur while everything else remain the same.
