I found that many of the pages in those chapters needed other minor fixes, so I've gone ahead with updating the chapter contents templates and making related changes on the pages of the chapter, all of which has the added benefit of making the sidebar style consistent through the Writer Guide.
I'm finding the same in a few places. The previous MediaWiki engine was a lot looser with its coding, and allowed page errors to exist by ignoring them. The new engine is a lot more rigid, and when there are coding errors (like missing </div> tags) strange things happen.
It's good that they are showing up now though... gives us the push we need to clean up some of the pages :-)
