Hi, I cannot invoke virtio-net PMD at least on Ubuntu12 and Ubuntu14 QEMU guest. This behavior might be seen on other users environment also, so I report it. . Here is error log.
$ ./testpmd -c f -n 1 -- -i ....snip.... Configuring Port0 (socket0) Fail to configuring port 0 tx queues. EAL: Error - exiting with code: 1 Cause: Start ports failed $ As a result of bisect, it seems this behavior is caused by following patch. 61b16f0f167a331e65f0729b3554ded0440b545b virtio: check for transmit checksum config error After revert the patch, I haven't seen the error. My question is that after applying this patch, should I specify some specific parameters for QEMU virtio-net device? Here is my parameters of virtio-net. -device virtio-net-pci,netdev=hostnet1,id=net1,mac=52:54:00:c6:a7:44,bus=pci.0,addr=0x5 \ -netdev tap,id=hostnet1 Also could someone reproduce the same issue? My host is ubuntu14, and I am using QEMU I've got using apt-get. Thanks, Tetsuya
