N Campbell created DRILL-4367:
---------------------------------
Summary: JDBC DatabaseMetadata.getColumns returns a single column
named *
Key: DRILL-4367
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-4367
Project: Apache Drill
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Client - JDBC
Affects Versions: 1.4.0
Reporter: N Campbell
Calling DatabaseMedata.getColumns for a VIEW returns a single row of metadata
for a column named * with a type ANY etc. instead of an expected projection
list of the object T.
Applications which expect to harvest metadata from the driver will not get an
expected description of the projection list.
create table TBOOL as
select columns[0] as RNUM, case when columns[1] = '\N' then cast ( null as
BOOLEAN) else columns[1] end as CBOOL from `dfs`.`CERTINPUTS`.`./TBOOL.tbl`
;
create view VBOOL as select * from TBOOL;
