I am for the validation of this as this catches new users off guard but
understand from the discussion that there are valid scenarios where this
validation can cause issues (native scheduler with aperiodic data triggers).
How about adding a runtime property where the validation can be
enabled/disabled so that we can have the validation enabled by default and then
disabled when the usage warrants it. I am not for configuration knobs like
these typically, but this seems to be a case where this is justified.
