You mean its mandatory in workflow.xml or feed property?
Its not mandatory in feed property. If set, the value is picked up from
property, else, default value is picked up from falcon runtime properties.
Other option would have been to not set in distcp options if not specified,
which will use distcp defaults. But picking up defaults from falcon runtime
properties allows operations/admins to control defaults for all feed
replications
