I suspect that if it was an integral part of the Framework, the size could be smaller, as theoretically it wouldn't need to do so much analysis which now happens upon reception of the ServiceEvents, the framework could 'kick' the trackers directly. I also think that Stuart's suggestion of replacing the ST with another implementation becomes moot, if those optimizations are in place.
