Hi Richard,
the test that covers this issue is very generic
http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/jboss-osgi/trunk/testsuite/functional/src/test/java/org/jboss/test/osgi/jbosgi142/OSGI142TestCase.java
just throw out the org.jboss.osgi.spi stuff and boot the Felix framework in
your preferred way.
