Log level drop down in log service plugin does not work

The current log service plugin draws a drop down box for the minimum log level
and the reload button suggest to change this settings with the button.
I guess, the level should not be displayed as a drop down as it is not
changeable.
In addition the reload button does not seem to work - or at least it does not
reset the drop down
