Chris Dolan commented on FELIX-3112:
------------------------------------

I just found out where my startlevel=60 default comes from:
karaf.startlevel.bundle=60
So, I think the docs should simply say "0 means to use the default startlevel
of the OSGi container"

> Default for felix.fileinstall.start.level documented incorrectly
> ----------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: FELIX-3112
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-3112
> Project: Felix
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: File Install
> Affects Versions: fileinstall-3.1.10
> Reporter: Chris Dolan
> Priority: Trivial
>
> On the page http://felix.apache.org/site/apache-felix-file-install.html the
> variable "felix.fileinstall.start.level" is documented with a default value
> of "false". In the jar OSGI-INF/metatype/metatype.xml I can see that the real
> default is "0". This should be corrected.
> But on a more fundamental level, what is the real default start level?
> Clearly, these bundles are not started at level 0. Trial-and-error with Karaf
> shows that it's really startlevel=60. Where does that come from? Could
> someone please add that to the documentation? Or if Karaf is the source of
> the value of 60, could the docs simply say that the container chooses the
> default start level?
