To prepare for the release, the Maven POM should be cleaned up:
* Set compiler source and target to Java 5
* Configure Animal Sniffer plugin for Java 5
* Replace backport-util-concurrent by Java 5 API use
Should we require a pre-Java 5 build, the respective compiler configuration,
animal sniffer configuration, and backport-util-concurreny (version 3.1)
dependency have to be added back in.
